What kind of streams does the Instreamer produce ?

The Instreamer converts audio from any analog source into:

    • G.711 (aLaw/uLaw) streams at 8 , 12, 24 or 32 kHz sample rate,
    • PCM (16 bit) streams at 8, 12, 24, 32, 44.1 or 48 kHz sample rate (44.1 and 48 kHz are also in stereo available
    • high-quality MP3 streams at adjustable bit rates (VBR and CBR) between 35 and 320 kbps.

The older Instreamer100 did support only VBR streams up to maximal 192 kbps.

The audio is encoded in real-time, and the generated audio stream can be distributed, via an IP-based network or the Internet, to one or more receivers or Shoutcast / Icecast-servers.
